How to Use 011Typer
Text to Binary Mode
Type or paste text in the input box to see its binary representation using 8-bit ASCII encoding.
Each character will be converted to its 8-bit binary value.
You can choose to process text automatically as you type or manually using the Run button.
Binary to Text Mode
Paste binary code (only 0s and 1s) to convert it back to readable text.
The binary input must be valid 8-bit ASCII (each character must be represented by 8 bits).
Spaces and other non-binary characters will be automatically removed.
Binary Forge Mode
Convert between text files and binary using our advanced file processing system.
Supported File Types: Upload and process PDF, DOCX, and TXT files (up to 3MB).
Drag & Drop: Simply drag your files into the dropzone or click to browse your files.
Auto-Detection: The system automatically detects if your file contains text or binary data.
Two-Way Conversion:
- Text to Binary: Extracts text from documents and converts it to binary format.
- Binary to Text: Converts binary data back to readable text.

Format Options
By Byte: Groups binary in 8-bit chunks with spaces (e.g., 01101000 01101001). Hover over bytes to see character information.
By Word: Groups binary in word chunks (8 bytes) with more spacing for better readability.
No Spacing: Outputs binary without any spacing (e.g., 0110100001101001) for compact representation.
Educational Mode
Toggle the switch to display ASCII values for each character you type.
This helps you learn the relationship between characters, ASCII values, and binary representation.
For performance reasons, only the first 50 characters are shown in the educational display.
Hover over any character to see more details about its binary representation.
Auto/Manual Conversion
Auto Mode (default): Conversion happens automatically as you type.
Manual Mode: You must click the Run button (or press Ctrl+Enter) to process the input.
Toggle between modes by pressing Alt+A or using Dev Mode settings.
Manual mode is useful for large inputs or when you want to control when conversion happens.
Theme Options
Light/Dark: Toggle between light and dark color schemes.
Color Themes: Choose from 15 different accent colors via the Colors dropdown (Blue, Green, Purple, Orange, Red, Teal, Cyan, Pink, Amber, Indigo, Deep Purple, Khaki, Gray, Yellow, and Brown).
Minimalist Mode: Hide interface elements for a distraction-free experience.
Courier Font: The entire application uses a consistent monospace font for a code-like experience.
All theme preferences are saved automatically for your next visit.

Copy to Clipboard: Quickly copy the output to your clipboard.
Share as Link: Generate a shareable link with your encoded message.
Download as TXT: Save the output as a text file.

Undo Last Word: Remove only the last word you typed.

Keyboard Shortcuts
Ctrl+Enter / Cmd+Enter: Run conversion (same as clicking the Run button).
Alt+A: Toggle automatic conversion mode.
Escape: Close open dialogs and menus.
Space: Insert space in byte mode binary output.
Backspace/Delete: Remove last character or binary byte.
Ctrl+C / Cmd+C: Copy selected text (standard browser function).
Ctrl+V / Cmd+V: Paste text (standard browser function).
Performance Tips
For very large inputs, the converter will automatically optimize processing.
Using manual conversion mode (Alt+A) can help with performance for large inputs.
Binary output is processed with a small delay to ensure smooth typing experience.
Web Workers are used for processing inputs larger than 5000 characters.
Mobile Usage
011Typer is optimized for desktop use as it relies on keyboard input for the best experience.
When accessing from a mobile device, you'll see a simplified interface with:
- A message explaining our desktop-first approach
- Information about our upcoming iOS app
- Access to the About section
For the complete binary conversion experience, please use a desktop computer.
Rotating your device to landscape mode will not enable desktop functionality.
Developer Mode
Enable Developer Mode by clicking the "Dev Mode" button at the bottom right corner.
Input Modes:
- Normal Mode: Standard text-to-binary conversion.
- Strict ASCII Mode: Only allows ASCII characters (0-127), blocking emojis or special symbols.
- Auto-Convert on Paste: Automatically processes large text blocks when pasted.
Output Encoding:
- Binary: Standard binary representation (e.g., 01100001).
- Hexadecimal: Hex format (e.g., 61).
- Decimal: Decimal values (e.g., 97).
- Unicode Code Point: Unicode code points (e.g., U+0061).
Line Wrapping: Choose how binary output is wrapped: 8-bit (1 byte), 16-bit (2 bytes), or 32-bit (4 bytes).
Clipboard Format: Select format when copying: raw output, output with decoded text, or structured JSON.
Performance Meter: Real-time metrics on input/output length, conversion time, and memory usage.
